setting up, getting ready.

today I learned an important lesson. I do not have to do everything. It sounds easy, but when it comes down to listing out everything we need, and or want for our Home school, It can get really complicated.

So I have decided to start small. One day at a time.

Today I cleared out Little bears toys (put all the loud bleepy things away) and left a few books, his cars, and some stacking sorting things in boxes out for him in a corner of the house where he could reach. Having everything within his reach, and not cluttered in a box makes it easier for him to focus. He seemed much calmer today.

I finished dishes, laundry, and started organizing the house. I put Jediprincess's laundry in a basket in her room along with a note to fold and put away in drawers when she gets home.

I even had time to take out the trash and start cleaning the bathroom while Little bear took his nap.

I have been working on putting links to cool resource sites on the blog, there are a few up, more to come as I find them.

All in all today was a complete success! I accomplished a little bit of everything, which frees me up to spend time with the kids, and help JP with her homework and talk about her day when she comes home.

I am surprised at how easy this all is. I was so worried that If I home schooled the kids full time, somehow everything else would fall apart. I'm finding it all much easier then I expected. (granted, today is a good day. not all days are good days).

I think we may even do nacho's for dinner tonight.

  2. Thanks Michelle! I'm trying. Its easy to get carried away with all the prep, but I think we are doing well so far. I still need to organize JP's school records, and fix up the house. I'm tempted to just jump right in, but I know that If I do it all this week, I'll burn out before we even start. one day at a time.
